Before opening my visual communications company twenty years a go, I was a Senior Programmer for Whitaker's Electronic Systems. Also in my past life, I was Director of Manufacturing, and a VP of Operations for Emerald Systems. That experience, plus my Masters in Business, led me to consider the benefits of owning my own business. One benefit was that I could no longer be subject to layoffs in various economic downturns. And secondly, if I was going to be working long hours, I might as well do that for myself. I can say that my decision was the right one. Signs On Time not only reflects my past systems and manufacturing background, but allows me to expand into what is unmistakeably a creative arena, adding my personal style in the process.

He has mastered numerous industry-related software programs, including FlexiSign PRO, Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, Ventura Publisher, and Adobe Illustrator, and others as he designed and manufactured signs for both printing and plotting devices. He is an expert vinyl applicator, and proficient in the use of PC and Macintosh; Color Scanners; HP Laserjet, as well as Roland and Graphtec plotters. Courtney uses these skills and his “front line” expertise to facilitate the production and design portion of each client's "original" masterpiece.
The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs. ~Vance Havner
I knew from the very beginning that we were on to something special. It was simply a matter of teamwork, and the synergy of the Sign Biz Network that allows us to service so many clients, big and lean, today.
